Michael Saulnier is a trial lawyer and registered patent attorney at DLA Piper in Austin, Texas who focuses his practice in the area of intellectual property litigation. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Michael served as a law clerk to Judge Alan D Albright in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, helped manage one of the country's largest patent dockets, and worked with Judges across the District (including in Austin and Midland/Odessa divisions) to manage complex civil and patent litigation. He has a background in Electrical Engineering and experience with a multitude of technologies, including wireless communications and protocols, smartphones, payment technology, cloud technology, networking devices, machine learning, GPUs, CPUs, memory storage and devices, displays, computer chips, semiconductors, power engineering, and renewable technologies. His practice includes patent, trade secret, copyright, and complex civil cases before district courts, Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission, and post grant proceedings before the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Michael received his J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law magna cum laude and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering summa cum laude from Texas A&M University.
