Pete Damerell is a partner at Powell Gilbert, a specialist European IP firm. He is qualified in England and Wales, as well as Ireland, and is a registered UPC representative. He has been a patent litigator for approximately 20 years, and most of his practice is currently focused on SEP / FRAND disputes in the UK and UPC.

Pete have been involved in a number of the leading SEP/FRAND disputes in the UK. This includes representing Huawei in the seminal Unwired Planet v Huawei dispute, ZTE in its recent dispute with Samsung, and Tesla in its current litigation in the UK against Avanci and InterDigital. He routinely advises on cross-border SEP/FRAND strategies, including the different approaches to FRAND determinations in different courts, anti-suit injunctions and the issues surrounding UK interim licence declarations.
