Steve Gardner is a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, resident in its Winston-Salem, NC office. He has practiced in the areas of patent disputes, counseling, and transactions for 30 years. Steve co-chaired Kilpatrick’s patent-litigation group for a decade and has represented companies in well over 100 lawsuits involving IP in courts across the country. He received a B.S. and M.S. from the School of Engineering at UNC Charlotte, a J.D., with honors, from the School of Law at Wake Forest University, where he was editor-in-chief of the law review, and a M.Div. from its School of Divinity. He also earned a D.Min. from Lipscomb University. After law school, he clerked for the Hon. Frank W. Bullock, Jr., Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, 1994-95, and the Hon. Alvin A. Schall, Circuit Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, 1995-96. He is listed by Business North Carolina on its “Legal Elite” list as one of the top patent attorneys in North Carolina and by Chambers USA as a Band 1 attorney for IP.
