Judge Schoen has specialized in patent law since 2008. His professional experience includes a secondment to the Federal Patent Court and service as a Research Assistant for the Patent Senate of the Federal Court of Justice. The Regional Court Munich I handles the highest volume of patent infringement cases in the western world. In 2023, Judge Schoen was appointed Presiding Judge of the 7th Civil Chamber, which now receives approximately 110 to 170 new patent infringement actions annually. Approximately half of these cases address SEP and FRAND matters.
