Karen Fishwick brings more than 13 years of experience as a patent litigator, prosecutor, and examiner. Prior to joining RPX in 2021, Ms. Fishwick practiced at Hueston Hennigan LLP in Los Angeles where she represented both plaintiffs and defendants in patent and other intellectual property disputes. Before that, she had similar responsibilities and experiences at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. As a litigator, her cases spanned numerous technologies including consumer electronics and other products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, semiconductors, and internet applications.

Before making the switch to litigation, Ms. Fishwick examined patents in the mechanical arts at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. While in law school, she also spent several years prosecuting patents at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Fishwick holds a BS in Physics and Mathematics from Dickinson College, and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. She is licensed to practice law in California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
