Ms. Ahn is a Director of Chicago-based litigation finance firm Longford Capital, where she is responsible for investment sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring.
Ms. Ahn is an accomplished attorney with 20 years of experience focusing on intellectual property litigation. She started her career at two nationally renowned law firms, Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner and Kirkland & Ellis, where she was elected partner. Ms. Ahn also practiced as a partner in the Global IP Law Group, LLC, where she assisted clients in licensing and enforcing their intellectual property rights; at Schiff Hardin, LLP, she concentrated on litigating Hatch-Waxman (“ANDA”) pharmaceutical patent cases. She also served as General Counsel of Third Wave Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded molecular diagnostics company.
Ms. Ahn has assisted her clients in licensing, sale, and enforcement of intellectual property rights in a wide array of industries, including electronics, software, telecommunications, and many others. She also has significant experience litigating complex intellectual property matters in federal courts throughout the United States and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Ms. Ahn’s educational background in biology, coupled with her experience in the life sciences field, gives Ms. Ahn particular insight and proficiency in matters related to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries.
Ms. Ahn holds a JD cum laude from American University, Washington College of Law and a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois; the US Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit; the US District Court for the District of Colorado; the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois; the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas; the US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin; and the USPTO.
